Dear alumni,

Hope everyone had a wonderful May 1st holiday! I for sure am not ready to be back at work after a few days off in Japan. Below are three upcoming events for your reference:

TEDxShanghai May 7th:

For the many that wanted tickets to the TEDx event but couldn’t get any, there will be live streaming done by LeTV this Saturday starting at 8:30am. Link: http://news.le.com/izt/2016tedshanghai/index.html

I would suggest everyone to logon to website a bit sooner given that there will probably be over 100,000 viewers at any given time.

Inter-University Spring Mixer May 13th:

It has been brought to our attention that an Inter-University mixer will be held on May 13th at the Ritz Bar in the Portman Ritz Carlton Hotel. Event starts at 18:00 and ends around 22:00. Price per person is 100RMB. No reservation is needed.

Oxbridge Impact – Jinshan Migrant Children School May 14th:

We are going back to the migrant school in Jinshan on May 14th to do another Oxbridge Impact event for them. This time we will partner with Yikun Sports (www.yikunsports.com) in teaching the students on how to play Ultimate Frisbee. Yikun sports will sponsor all the Frisbee as well as coaches for the students. The event will include English learning revolving around sports and competition as well as a small competition in the end. Current students participating are estimated to be around 50 – 60.

We are looking for 10 volunteers for this event where the volunteer will be in charge of a small team consisting of 5 – 6 students. Please let me know if you will be interested in volunteering for this event. Feedback had always been phenomenal for the alumni that had participated in the past.

Sincerely,

Steven Luk
